Arabsat/Badr’s beams are specifically designed to cover the Arabian Peninsula, so EIRP (signal power) is usually higher over Saudi Arabia compared to Nilesat. This is why channels on Arabsat often appear more stable, especially with smaller dishes.

Arabsat/Badr 26E and Nilesat 7W/8W are the most commonly used in Saudi Arabia. Additional satellites like Eutelsat at 7/8W or 13E may be received depending on dish size and region.

Afternoon heat expands dish metal and support arms slightly, changing the focal point. LNB oscillators also drift with temperature. If your alignment is marginal, these small changes are enough to reduce SNR. Fine-tuning and using quality hardware improves stability.

As in UAE, choose a universal Ku-band LNB with low noise figure, very stable LO, and UV-resistant body. Desert-rated LNBs are designed to handle the extreme temperatures seen in many parts of Saudi Arabia.

Northern cities sit closer to the outer edge of Nilesat’s beam. As you move away from the center of coverage, signal power drops, which is why larger dishes and high-quality LNBs are required in northern regions.

Nilesat’s footprint generally provides slightly stronger signal in western regions like Jeddah compared to some northern or eastern areas. However, with the right dish size and precise alignment, both Riyadh and Jeddah can receive Nilesat reliably.

Central and southern KSA locations usually receive Nilesat well with 90–120 cm dishes, while northern regions (like Tabuk) may need 120–150 cm for stable HD reception. Local installers can advise based on your exact city.
