0% quality indicates the tuner does not see a valid digital signal at that frequency and polarization. Causes include wrong satellite selection, incorrect parameters, dish misalignment, faulty LNB, or broken cable. Strength may show some RF, but without proper quality the receiver cannot lock.
Strong transponders differ by satellite, but generally those with higher symbol rates and robust FEC values provide better stability. Installers in UAE often use one or two known ‘reference’ frequencies on each satellite to peak the dish for maximum quality.
On most StarSat receivers, go to Menu → Installation → Transponder List → Add/Edit, then enter frequency, symbol rate, polarization, and FEC. After saving, perform a scan on that transponder or on the entire satellite.
